By Free Press

Emagine Woodhaven, a new 10-screen theater with state-of-the-art amenities and seating for 1,600, is having its grand opening this weekend.

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. today at the theater, 21800 Wildflower in Woodhaven. It's off Allen Road between West and King.

"Woodhaven and the surrounding communities represent a highly underserved movie market," said Paul Glantz, founder and chairman of Emagine Entertainment. "Our development will address that need with a spectacular product."

The theater's 10 auditoriums seat from 100 to 300 patrons each, and all have wall-to-wall screens, digital sound, high-backed rocking seats and 46-inch row spacing.

Emagine Woodhaven is equipped with digital projection technology and has digital 3D capabilities.

Matinee tickets are $5. Tickets for evening shows are $9.50 for adults, $6.50 for ages 11 and under, and $7.50 for ages 55 and up and high school and college students with ID.

The theater is the fourth in Glantz's chain. He opened Cinema Hollywood in Birch Run 1997. Emagine Novi opened in 2002 and Emagine Canton followed in 2004.
