Dingell Delivers8/10/2009
Congressman John Dingell continues feeling the heat tonight regarding all the spending by Congress. The Dearborn native met with constituents this afternoon at the Downriver Community Center in Southgate. The meeting was not as hostile as last week's confrontation regarding Dingell's Health Care proposal. Dingell focused on the nation's Stimulus Package, and it's impact on Michigan.
Rep. John Dingell/(D)-Michigan "This act has meant $18 billion for Michigan. It's going to go into education, healthcare, go into nutrition. It's going to go into jobs, it's going to go into public works." Dingell continues to meet with voters. Many of his Democratic colleagues have cancelled meetings because of loud opposition to Congress' health care proposal. And the wife of congressman Dingell, Debbie Dingell is leaving her longtime position as a General Motors executive. The Detroit Free Press is reporting Dingell who is the vice chairman of the GM Foundation has taken an incentive package to leave the company. General Motors is trying to reduce its executive ranks by 35 percent. More Good Stuff |
