2010 Budget Bills

The state legislature continues to slowly make progress towards a 2010 budget. Governor Granholm signed the 3 budget bills today, providing funding for k-12 education, corrections and transportation.

However, she said she does not understand why several other bills, including those for human services, community health, and higher education, have not yet reached her desk.

The fiscal year began October 1st and the state government has been operating under a 30-day temporary budget, while lawmakers try to reach agreements on the next spending plan.
