School Budget Cuts

10/20/2009

Several public school districts in Metro Detroit will receive less state funding next year as a result of a bill governor Jennifer Granholm vetoed.

The governor vetoed a 51 million dollar public school budget made by the Michigan senate to aid thirty-nine struggling school districts.

Granhom says she vetoed the bill because if approved, would have thrown off the states overall twelve point nine billion dollar school aid fund.

Some of the districts in our area that will be affected are Dearborn, Livonia and Warren to name a few.
