Milton Arraigned

A former aide to former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was also in federal court today.

DeDan Milton was arraigned on bribery and extortion charges this afternoon.

Milton, is accused of receiving over twenty-thousand dollars to help approve the sale of the “Camp Brighton”, a Detroit city owned property in Livingston County.

Milton’s lawyer said his client hasn’t decided if he will cooperate with the FBI City Hall corruption investigation that includes the former mayor.

"Nothings been determined, we have not talked with the U.S. Attorney about the possibility of cooperation as yet, these talks are ongoing and we’ll make those decisions in time."

Late last year, Milton’s brother, Kandia Milton, who served as chief of staff for Kwame Kilpatrick, plead guilty to bribery in the “Camp Brighton” case.
