Short-handed sailing is more of a mind set than a head count; when the tasks on a boat exceed the experienced crew to cover them, you're short-handed. Cruising or racing, short-handing a boat is a skill acquired through constant practice and education. Would you enjoy making fast, safe passages, under sail, with minimum crew? Sailor Howard Riley will capture the power at the Grosse Pointe Sail Club (GPSC) on for some practical advice on maneuvering, cruising, passage-making and even getting some sleep!
