NASA Unveils Super-Sized Rocket for Deep Space Missions

NASA on Wednesday unveiled the design for its new heavy-lift rocket that will transport astronauts on deep space missions in the future, according to a story on Space.com.

"The next chapter of America's space exploration story is being written today," NASA administrator and former astronaut Charles Bolden said during a news briefing announcing the Space Launch System, according to the story.

The report says the SLS rocket's first test flight is targeted for the end of 2017.
