Lion King 3-D Roars Way to Top Spot at Box Office

The 3-D release of the animated Disney movie classic The Lion King was a hit over the weekend, earning more than $29 million to top the box office charts, according to a USA Today story.

The revenue was more than double industry projections, according to the report. The Lion King eclipsed last weekend's top-earning movie Contagion, which dropped to the No. 2 spot.
