EAST PEORIA, Ill.-- While it sounds like a scene straight out of a Charlie Brown cartoon, owners of an Illinois farmer's market say this Halloween heist is no treat, according to a report from Granite Broadcasting sister station CINewsNow.com.
According to the report from CINewsNow.com:
Ida Hammer and her son say some time overnight Sunday, the super sized squash was stolen from their East Peoria, Ill. farm stand.
Hammer says she's shocked someone would pull such an elaborate pumpkin prank, especially when you take into account the manual labor involved.
"It would take two or three people at least," she said. "I don't know why they would take it. Just to say 'Well, I've got a big pumpkin,' and show off that they got a big pumpkin or whatever, because I think we were the only ones around here that had a pumpkin that size."
