Search for Bianca Enters Fifth Day

December 6, 2011

DETROIT, Mich. (My TV20 News at 10) --- It's day five of the search for 2-year-old Bianca Jones, and her father D'Andre Lane talks to TV20 News at 10 tonight about the disappearance of his 2-year-old girl.

Bianca disappeared Friday without a trace. Volunteers on Monday joined in the search that over the weekend turned up nothing. They canvassed an area bounded by Woodward, Cameron, Kenilworth and Philadelphia Streets.

Lane, told police on Friday that his vehicle was carjacked with his daughter inside. So police issued an Amber Alert Friday afternoon. For a time, Lane had been held by Detroit Police on an unrelated charge.

He's since been released. The search for Bianca continued this morning but the overnight snow surely makes it more difficult for searchers, who on Monday went out in force to help police.

So far, there's been no trace of her, who is African-American, weighs twenty-five pounds and has braided hair. Check out the pictures! Perhaps you've seen her.

Lane described the suspect as black man, 25 to 30 years of age, with some facial hair and medium skin tone, about 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, wearing a baseball cap .

If you have any information on this case you're asked to call Detroit Police Department at 313-596-2555.
