DETROIT METRO AIRPORT (my TV20 News at 10) --- It's not a new hangar that holds this Delta jet.
It actually reduces the noise when mechanics test the engines at Detroit Metro Airport.
Operators unveiled their new $11 million Ground Run-Up Enclosure.
Mechanics routinely test engines during early morning hours they repaired.
That creates loud disturbances for people who live near the airport.
However, the new structure absorbs most of that noise.
The building can accommodate a variety of passenger jets, including the 747.
