RIVER ROUGE, Mich. (My TV20 News at 10) --- MDOT has its sights set on replacing the historic Fort Street drawbridge (M-85) over the Rouge River starting in 2013.

The project will increase clearance for river traffic and improve the intersection of Fort Street and Oakwood Boulevard to the west.

Design topics include bridge railings, shape and truss color. More information on this project is available at www.michigan.gov/mdotstudies.

MDOT wants input area residents, businesses and so-called 'stakeholders' who use the bridge or the river. So they've schedule a public meeting on the drawbridge project.

The public meeting will be held Thursday, January 19th from 4 - 7 P.M. at Trinity-St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 9315 West Fort Street.
