12-Year Old Girl Avoids Attempted Abduction

ROYAL OAK, Mi. (MyTV20) --- Royal Oak police say a 12-year old girl was almost abducted at the intersection of S. Lafayette and Eleven Mile Road.

The media release from Royal Oak Police:

"Today, Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 8:10 am, the Royal Oak Police Department was informed that an unknown male, driving a dark green pickup truck, approached a 12-year-old girl at the intersection of S. Lafayette and Eleven Mile Rdoad.

The male driver lowered the passenger window and attempted to engage her in a conversation. The girl became scared and ran. The suspect then left the area.

Furthermore, the pickup truck has only two (2) doors, tinted windows and was not equipped with a cap.
