DETROIT, Mich. (My TV20 News at 10) --- An old Detroit school may re-open, not to students but customers.
The old Redford High closed in June 2007.
Superstore Meijer wants to open a new store on the site. The Michigan Economic Growth Authority approved $6.6 million tax break for the Grand Rapids-based company.
Meijer would demolish the million-square-foot complex, and spend $33 million on the project. The new store would create roughly 83 full-time jobs and 208 part-time ones.
No word when construction will start.
