Michigan Needs More Organ Donors

April 22, 2011

DETROIT (My TV20 News at 10) – Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has enacted a new policy that directs employees to ask Secretary of State branch customers if they want to join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry.

Michigan is near the bottom of the list nationally in organ donor registration. In the past there had been no consistent policy for branches or employees to register.

Anyone who is interested in registering may do so at any branch or sign up online at the Secretary of State website at www.Michigan.gov/sos.
