OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (My TV20 News at 10) --- It was pilot error.
THat's the finding of federal investigators into last summer's crash of a sea plane jjust off Williams Lake in Oakland County.
The plane slammed into a back yard last July as the pilot tried to land on Williams Lake, near Waterford. He was not seriously hurt.
The flight took place after the pilot dropped off a passenger.
Investigators determined he did not properly store that person's seatbelt before he left.
The belt buckle got jammed between the rear seat rudder pedal and floor board, which left the pilot unable to maintain control of the plane.
