Detroit (My TV20 News at 10) --- Snowfall totals varied greatly across the area. While precipitation started out as rainfall yesterday, it eventually changed over to some light snow by the afternoon and evening.
In the city, only a trace of snow was reported, but those totals slowly increased as you move farther west. Some reports were as high as 6" near Saginaw. Areas in between saw snowfall totals between a 1/2" and 5". While these snowfall totals may sound impressive, the ground was still very warm, so a lot of the snow melted. This made for a slushy mess on the roads.
We're in for a dryer, sunny day this afternoon, which will help to melt any snow and slush still on the ground.
We will have more on the weather and it's impact in the days ahead -- tonight on My TV20 News at 10
