Tear Down, Rebuild Detroit's Blighted Neighborhoods

DETROIT, Mi. (My TV20 News at 10) --- Governor Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing announce the collaborative effort to help tear down blight and rebuild Detroit neighborhoods.

The new, comprehensive neighborhood revitalization initiative centered on making schools the hub of their communities. The announcement was made before a group of J.E. Clark Preparatory students by Detroit Public Schools Emergency Manager Roy Roberts, who was joined by Mayor Dave Bing, Gov. Rick Snyder, representatives of the Morningside Community, Wayne County Treasurer’s Office, Clark Principal Demond Thomas, Maura D. Corrigan, director of the Michigan Department of Human Services, Matt Simoncini, CEO of Lear Corporation, and others.
