Tiny Newborns Help Save Lives

DETROIT, Mi. (My TV 20 News at Ten) --- Newborn babies and their moms are helping save lives at the DMC 's Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.

Its all part of a new program in which mothers agree to donate the umbilical cord blood to create a blood bank.

The blood could help save lives of those who suffer from cancer or serious blood disorders.

Our Jorge Avellan was in the delivery room today as a baby was born and her cord was used for the bank.
