ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?, is a television game show based on asking grade school level questions to adults. Each game is played by a single contestant who earns money incrementally by answering the simple trivia questions.

The show is essentially a test to see how much information an adult has retained since graduating elementary school. There are also five "classmates" in the game, of approximately fifth-grade age, who also answer each question in secret by writing their answers. Each classmate can help the contestant for only two questions, then a new classmate must be selected.

The contestants have the opportunity to answer 10 subject questions for $500,000 and one additional question to win a million dollars.

Contestants can drop out at any time through out the game and leave with money they have won but not without admitting on camera that, "I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader!"

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? is hosted by Jeff Foxworthy. Jeff is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. A true jack-of-all-trades, Foxworthy has found significant success in television, film, recorded comedy and literature. His act goes well beyond his famed "redneck" jokes that explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature. The game show is produced by Mark Burnett.
