TV that teaches is often intended to be content based, it is about what children need to learn. For instance, some programs teach children specific skills or topics and some can also be process based and this reflects how children lean. The K.E.Y.S. Kids TV Show is a mixture of both!

To a young adult, television is like a mirror. When children look at the screen they see a vision reflected back of what they think they should be like, how they should behave, and what they should do to be happy, successful and loved.

Danszar "De" Dinosaur and his friends provide important models for children as they learn about the world and their place in it. They approach the challenges of life with optimism and resilience, while their stories also introduce basic cognitive and interpersonal skills. At the same time, Danszar models ways that adults can provide reassurance and gentle guidance to children, reinforcing the importance of a caring adult in a young child's life.

The show is participatory, encouraging parental involvement. The K.E.Y.S. Kids puppet characters come alive on the show to convey their very important life-skills messages. They go into neighborhoods, schools, churches, community centers, businesses, etc., to get families involved in prevention activities.
