Synoposis: The story is about a boy named Evan Goldman who has the perfect 12-year-old life residing in New York City (where he is popular), until his parents get divorced and he is forced to move to a small town in rural Indiana.
He is the new kid in town, about to turn 13 and celebrate his Bar Mitzvah. All he wants is to be a part of the popular clique (like he was in NYC), no matter how cruel he has to be to others at the school, including a boy with Muscular Dystrophy. He only cares about how the popular clique treats him. The problem is, no matter what he tries, all of his plans fall apart and the question arises: What is cool and why? In the end, Evan discovers that cool is being who you are, even if it is not being a part of the popular clique.
