The Association for the Study of African American Life and History was founded in 1915 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson and a group of visionaries. The organization is dedicated to promoting, researching, preserving, interpreting and disseminating information about Black life, history and culture to the global community. Woodson, like W. E. B. DuBois and Dr. Charles H. Wright, recognized the important role of African Americans in the history of the United States and the world. Additional information about the organization and membership can be found on the internet at http://www.asalh.org.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
