SOMERSET CENTER, MICHIGAN – Somerset Beach Campground is pleased to announce the 6th annual Somerset Stampede Half-marathon and 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, August 20, 2011. This event provides financial assistance to help children attend summer camp at Somerset Beach (www.somersetbeach.org).
Somerset is one of the most challenging half-marathon courses in Michigan. Both routes feature a combination of scenic rural roads and trails around Mission Lake. In addition, an upbeat finish, swimming, food, and music await all finishers.
The half-marathon, 5K run, and 5K walk all begin at 7:30am at the Somerset Beach Campground, which is located behind Lake Le Ann Golf Course just off US-12, four miles west of US-127 in Somerset Center, MI.
The Somerset Stampede features:

► Awards for overall winners, masters runners, and top three in each age group
