The Walled Lake Western High School theater will be inhabited by The PHANTOM of the OPERA this fall when they perform this spectacular winner of seven 1988 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life. The show will be performed on November 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 7:30p.m. and on the 13 and 20 at 2:00p.m. Tickets go on sale, October 17 and can be purchased online at http://www.wlwmusical.com or by phone at 248-956-4625. Ticket prices range from $18 - $20 for adults and $14 - $16 for students and seniors. Discount tickets are also available for groups of 20 or more.
“This demanding musical will have a performance company of over 125 students, guided by over 25 adult professionals. The full-length production will involve numerous special effects, including the famous chandelier that rises from the stage in the opening scene,” said Mr. Gregory Cleveland, Walled Lake Western’s Choir Director and Producer of the musical. “The very same script and score that is currently being performed on Broadway will also be brought to life at Walled Lake Western,” said Ms. Kim Paullin, Acting Director. “Singing, acting and playing instruments in this international musical phenomenon will be the ultimate learning experience for our students, and a night of professional-level theater that audiences will not believe is presented by a high school,” Paullin added.

The Phantom exercises a reign of terror as he devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing Christine’s extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command. Walled Lake Western High School is one of three high schools in the Walled Lake School District. The high school is located in Walled Lake, at 600 Beck Rd between Maple and Pontiac Trail roads. The school touts one of the best performing arts programs in the area, it’s choirs have received over 265 Superior and Excellent Awards in district and state choir festivals since 1990.
