Betsie Valley Run - A Destination Event

THOMPSONVILLE, MI – Friends of the Betsie Valley District Library and the award-winning Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa are pleased to present the 7th Annual Betsie Valley Run Half-Marathon, 10K Run/Walk, 5K Run/Walk, and Child’s Mile event. This annual event always takes place on the first Sunday in October, and this year’s run is set to begin on the Crystal Mountain grounds on Sunday, October 7th at 9:00 a.m. for the adult events and 11:30 a.m. for the Child’s Mile. The location of this challenging, family-friendly event provides a stunning fall backdrop that can only be found in Michigan.

The primary purpose of this class event is to raise funds to provide the Betsie Valley District Library with materials, services, and facilities to advance education and reading, especially aimed at children. The annual run is the library’s biggest and most successful fundraiser and continues to grow each year.

Along with the beautiful scenery, this event has a lot to offer. The race will have chip timing, age-group awards, water stops, post-race refreshments, t-shirts for the first 300 participants, and t-shirts and goodie bags for the first 50 Child’s Mile kids registered. Besides the age-group awards, there will be some great prizes, including several Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa golf-ski packages and cash prizes for overall winners.

Betsie Valley registration is $40 for the half-marathon, $30 for the 10K and 5K running events, and $25 for the 10K and 5K walking events. Seniors 65 or older on the day of the race are $25, and the Child’s Mile is $5. Add $5 to register on the day of the event (excluding the Child’s Mile).
