PTD Productions is pleased to announce our next production-Painting Churches by Tina Howe.
Our 2012 season continues with the intimate comedy, Painting Churches, by Tina Howe, at the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti. Dates and times are:
September 20-23 and 27-29.
All performances are at 8 pm, except for Sunday, 9/23, which is a 2 pm matinee.
There is humor and grace in this moving portrait of a family of eccentrics. Gardner and Fanny Church are preparing to move out of their elegant Beacon Hill home. Gardner, once a famous poet, now is retired. He slips in and out of senility as his wife Fanny valiantly tries to keep them both afloat. They have asked their daughter, Mags, herself an artist on the verge of fame, to come home and help them move. Mags agrees, also hoping to finally paint their portrait. But sometimes the hardest things to see are those with which we are the most familiar.
Directed by Laura C. Bird, with Robert Bethune, Sayre Fox and Amy Griffith.
The lobby will feature a display of family portraits by local artists.
Ticket prices are $18 general, $12 for students and seniors. Thursdays are Pay-What-You-Can.
