Monster Jam Returns to Detroit - Jan. 12

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam®, the world’s premier monster truck series produced by Feld Motor Sports®, will roar into the Motor City for an event at Ford Field on Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 PM.

At this event four popular monster truck drivers will make homecoming appearances: Frank Krmel, of Roseville, will drive Advance Auto Parts Grinder®; Chris Bergeron, of Chesterfield, will drive Brutus; and, Jim Koehler, of Columbus, will drive Avenger while his brother Steve Koehler, of Chesterfield, will drive Wrecking Crew.

Monster Jam events are affordably priced for the whole family and tickets are now on sale with seats starting at $10 for kids and $20 for adults if purchased in advance. All ticket prices increase $2 on the day of the show. Advance Auto Parts is offering $5 adult ticket discount coupons available from December 24, 2012 – January 11, 2013 at all participating Advance Auto Parts locations while supplies last. The event will also feature Grave Digger® along with numerous other United States Hot Rod Association® (USHRA) Monster Trucks including Northern Nightmare driven by Cam McQueen, Maximum Destruction® driven by Neil Elliott, El Toro Loco® driven by Chuck Werner, Mega Bite driven by Brad Allen, Crushstation driven by Greg Winchenbach, Aftershock driven by Bob Robbins, Rolling Thunder, driven by Jim Bendzick, Krazy Train, Predator and Pouncer! (Please note the line-up is subject to change without notice).

Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.

The Party in the Pits, held from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM just prior to the show on Saturday, January 12, gives fans the opportunity to view the trucks up close, meet the drivers and get autographs and pictures. Pit Party passes are priced at $10 and now available for purchase while supplies last at the Ford Field Box Office or online at as an “add on” to a regular admission ticket order.
