I was born to a single mother name Cathy, and I have a younger brother name Rodrick, which will be graduating in the year 2009. Also, I have a baby sister name Sa’Nyia, which will become one year old next month; I love each of them dearly.
My family calls me priea and my real name is SaQuanda Caprice Coakley.
I have enjoyed school every since the first grade, and especially my years in high school. I have attended several high schools; I attended Redford high school during the ninth grade, and upon entering the tenth grade, as well as the eleventh, I attended Walled Lake Western High. Unfortunately, in my senior year I had to make a transition and it was then that I attended Henry Ford High school and where I graduated from June 4th of this year.
I wish I could have graduated from Walled Lake Western High, because I enjoyed attending there very much. I was there two years and it was great. I made lots of friends and I had good connections with my teachers. I believe that when you have a good relationship with your teachers it helps to give you stability, and stability is very important when you are preparing to go out into the real world, and off to college.
I think that high school is very important and it is those years that you build a solid foundation for your road map into adulthood. I believe that I lost a little of my stability when making the transition to a new school. But, I managed to pull it together and now I am here, a graduate of Henry Ford High School.
I have goals and dreams, but right now I am finalizing some of things that will give direction in my life, to where I am going and how to get there. I believe that I will go on to do great things in spite of the prior obstacles that made me change my focus. I am getting myself back on track. I do know that success can be very hard work, and in the real world things don’t always go the way you plan them, and making the transition from school to school have prepared me a little for the flexibility in life.
Although, my journey has been brief the experience will last a lifetime. I am ready to enter adulthood, I may not be fully prepared but, I am willing to learn along the way by being positive and keeping the faith that I can become anything I desire in America. And that is a brief look into the journey to my graduation day. I could share more, but I want take anymore of your time.
Last, but not least, I am a proud graduate of Henry Ford High School, in Detroit, Michigan. Hats off to all the other graduates and, best of luck as you venture into adulthood. Class of 2008, it feels Great!
