My 14 year old son was recruited a month ago to try out for the USA Little League baseball team in Florida, starting June 16, 2013. A recruiter from Ohio had heard about him. He was selected to try out and represent the ECTB team. The opening on the team came only a month ago and Henry was selected. Thats why it is such short notice. Expenses are not paid for tryouts, but if he makes the USA team, all expenses are paid. I immediately started a fundraiser and he has been selling candy bars. Unfortunately, we haven't raised enough yet. We only have a week to get it together for him to participate. He is the only Michigan boy on this team. If we could get his fundraiser information out to the Michigan area, we might be able to raise enough funds to go. We are trying to go as inexpensive as possible so I am driving to save on travel. Along with this, his dad (my ex) was collecting money for his fundraising and KEPT/SPENT the money!
I am asking if you could do something to help him. This could change his life. Fox 2 contacted me and set up an interview with him, he was so excited and then they cancelled twice. What a let down for him. We were really counting on that to get the word out on his accomplishment and to help with the fundraising. I even told the school it was going to be on the news and they were planning a special event for it but now I don't know what fox 2 is doing but they haven't came through with the interview and we only have a week to go.
Please help Henry. His site is: gofundme.com/help-henryjr if you would like to see more information on it. I appreciate any help you can give.
