My Santa Baby was born on December 25th and was delivered by 2 Gynecologists, one located in Detroit, and the other in Florida. How can this be? Well, my niece’s regular gynecologist/obstetrician promised to deliver her baby, but decided at the last minute to go to Florida to spend time with his vacationing family. This was 1 day before delivery. So, when the baby was ready to be delivered, the obstetrician in Detroit delivered the baby while her regular obstetrician monitored the baby’s vital signs and contractions through his computer in Florida. How about that as a novel use for a Personal Computer? The hospital had internet hookup and the newborn was carefully monitored throughout delivery by both doctors. Vital statistics: weight: 7lbs.4 oz length: 19 inches. Smile: priceless.
