Last year at the Motor City Bowl, now the Little Caesars Bowl this picture was taken. Photographed here are my brother and his Central Michigan University college roommates, along with our uncle a former Chippewas himself. For the fourth year in a row my brother will ask, for his birthday present from our family, to go tailgate in the freezing cold on his birthday for the Little Caesars Bowl. Every year we go down, my Uncle sets up in his usual Detroit Lions tailgating spot and cooks us up a breakfast pizza. We laugh, eat and try to stay warm from early in the morning until game time. This year is rather special due to the particular faith my older brother has in his football team. While two of my brothers attended Central Michigan University, my oldest brother and I are Michigan State graduates. We spent almost a decade tailgating for Spartan games in the same spot with the same family friends. For years we debated whose football team could beat who, and we finally got our match up earlier this fall. Our usual Spartan tailgate host was a proud fan of his team while my brother was faithful to his school. My brother made a wager on the game, betting a year of cutting our family friend's lawn if the Spartans won versus a special birthday tailgate for the Little Caesars Bowl if they lost. As crazy as it sounds, my brother did not take the spread he was offered which was at least two touchdowns I believe, and instead made the bet straight up. Fortunately for my brother the Spartans were defeated by Dan LeFevour and the Chippewas. So now for his birthday, for the fourth straight year, our family will be heading down to Detroit to tailgate and cheer on the Central Michigan Chippewas. The only difference will be a special birthday tailgate in my brother's honor due to his confidence and school pride. I could think of nothing better to give to my brother on his birthday, then the Little Caesars Bowl Prize Pack. Where else are you going to find a bet consisting of lawn care versus tailgate set ups, based on only the pride each person has for his or her school? College Football...There's Nothing Like It.
For The Fourth Year
