LANSING, Mich. (MyTV20Detroit) --- State Representative Fred Durhal Junior (6th House District, Detroit) wants to create three special lotteries to help high school graduates pay for college.

Durhal would also ask the city's three casinos to give an additional one percent of their gross revenue to help fund the plan.

Students would have to have at least a two point five G-P-A to qualify for the assistance.

The tuition awarded by the proposal would not include any money for books… room and board or other fees.
