DDOT Celebrates National Transportation Week

Tools

As a part of the U. S. Department of Transportation's celebration of National Transportation Week [May 11 through May 17], the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) is hosting "Ride the Bus Day" at the Cadillac Place Building, 3044 W. Grand Blvd., Wednesday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The National Transportation Week theme is "Go Green. Go Public!" to encourage people to try transit, one of the benefits of which is a cleaner environment. DDOT will display bus schedules, system maps, current product, and informational materials. The Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) and Transportation Riders United (TRU) will join DDOT to inform commuters of current public transportation options that are available. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for the “Commuter Challenge ‘09” activities to enter drawings and win prizes.

For more information, contact DDOT Customer Service Office at (313) 933-1300 or (888) DDOT-BUS (outside of the 313 area code). Information is also available on DDOT’s Web site at DDOT site
