The search for the renewable fuel of the future continues. Biofuels are some of the most promising contenders – they include ethanol and biodiesel. Both of those come from plant crops. The key is figuring out which crops will give us the biggest bang for the buck. Wasted plant material, emissions from farm equipment and the cost of bringing the crop to harvest are other factors that need to be balanced.
