New Rules For Green Building

California is upping the ante when it comes to green building. The nation’s first statewide rules are setting standards for energy efficiency, water use and recycled material use in newly constructed buildings. The new rules will become mandatory in 2010 but they won’t trump local buiding codes which in many Bay Area cities are stricter.
