DETROIT, Mi. (TV 20 News at Ten) ---- Federal officials announced this afternoon that the city of Detroit has been given $300 million in federal grants as well as donations from the private sector. The announcement was made at Wayne State University after a closed door meeting.
The funds will be used to deal with blight, improve transportation and public safety. U.S. Attorney Eric Holder and the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development were among those present at the announcement.
