One Vote9/30/2008
My TV 20 is being credited with helping to get more people to the polls in November. Singer Brandy stopped by Southfield's Northland Center this morning. She was the special guest of today's "Vote One" program. My TV 20 teamed up with the "Radio One" Broadcast Group to register new voters.
Brandy "So many people have died, and paved the way for me to vote, and not just register, but, actually get out there and vote." Sarah Norat-Phillips "At TV 20, a community partner, we felt we should be involved in getting registered to vote, to exercise their right this November." Kathie Stonehouse "We have over 250,000 African-Americans in Michigan not registered. So, we're doign whatever we can to get the word out, let people know it's not a hard process, we're here to help you." Organizers are also planning a second effort before the election to remind people to vote this November. |
