There's no end to the people lining up to vote at the Farmingiton Hills Clerk's Office. They are getting absentee ballots to avoid long lines at the polls Tuesday. Larissa Rymko is voting for the first time.

Larissa Rymko
"This election is going to change our country no matter which way it goes, so, i thought I need to be here and participate in this since it's my duty as a US citizen."

Larissa did everything right so she could vote, and so are thousands of other people.

The first thing you need to know is make sure you are registered to vote, and bring a legal form of identification to your polling place.

Kathy Dornan
"If you don't have photo ID, we won't turn you away, small affadavit you have to fill out."

You're allowed to wear clothes that show your support for your favorite teams. But, don't weat anything that displays your favorite candidate.

Kathy Dornan
"If they come in with that, they will be asked to put what they can in their pockets, they'll be asked to remove tee-shirts, put them inside out."

Most importantly, bring plenty of patience. A record number of people are expected to vote in this presidential election. That means it will take a little longer to cast your vote.

Also, don't panic if you mess up your ballot. Simply ask a precint worker for another one.
