Dundee Flooding

Our other big story, a state of emergency in Dundee tonight. It's due to high waters in the area. My TV20's Dave Leval shows us some of the damage.

The Dundee Post Office may not look like much at the old City Hall. But, like they say, neither rain, nor sleet, will stop the US mail. Neither will a flood. The regualr building is inaccessible a couple of blocks away, as is much of downtown Dundee. It's all due to the rising water of the River Raisin.

Kids
"This is so cool."

The high water is attracting folks along the river bank to see some of the worst flooding in this town's history.

Kayla Vargas/Resident
"First, I have to say it's pretty bad, I've never seen it like this."

Others disagree.

Frank Smith/Resident
"Back in '82-'83 when ice jammed it up here. It flooded by Kroger out there. Worse then because only way out of town was 23 that year."

You can't blame kids and others for being excited. Afterall, it's not everyday your town finds itself divided. In Dundee, Dave Leval, My TV 20 News at 10.
