It looks more tonight Detroit is about to lose one of its professional
sports teams. My TV 20 has learned a news conference is planned for tomorrow afternoon to announce the Detroit Shock is moving. This updates a story we first told you about Friday. My TV 20's Dave Leval tells us where the Shock will likely call home.

The Detroit Shock celebrated their third WNBA Title in October 2008. Little did anyone suspect that it is likely the team's last in the Motor
City.

The Shock has called The Palace of Auburn Hills home since the team joined the leage in 1998. That's two years after the WNBA was formed. Now comes word the Shock will likely pack its bags and move to its new home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The team would have new owners, some of whom are no strangers to
basketball. One of them is a part owner of the NBA's Oklahome City Thunder. He and another also own the Tulsa Talons indoor football team.

The Shock averaged 8,000 fans a game in 2009. That was down about 1,500 from the previous year. Still the Shock had the league's fifth best attendance this season. Owners of the Shock are not commenting on the team's likely move. The only word out of Tulsa is a news conference is scheduled fot Tuesday Morning. In Detroit, Dave Leval, My TV 20 News at 10.

No word from league representatives about the Shocks' future. Owners in Tulsa announced their plans to get a team last Thursday. They are already selling tickets, and have announced former Arkansas
coach Nolan Richardson will be their new head coach.
