Think Pink

It's a disease that's predicted to kill nearly 30,000 people around the
country this year. Events continue this weekend to find a cure to breast cancer.

Eastern Michigan's football coach will wear a pink polo shirt and hat. His players and coaches will sport pink ribbon decals on their helmets
and shirts.

RON ENGLISH
HEAD COACH, EMU
"Cancer is an insidious disease, and if you ever had someone close to you contract it, then you really understand it."

English lost his dad to cancer several years ago. While English will wear a pink shirt, members of the EMU ladies volleyball team will wear pink uniforms in Saturday's game against Buffalo. Proceeds benefit the Side-Out Foundation.

Other teams are also doing their part to help you "Think Pink."

Tyler Seguin shows off the pink jerseys he and the rest of the Plymouth Whalers wore last year. They will hit the ice with them, and pink hair, during Saturday Night's game against Belleville. Faceoff at Compuware Arena is 7:05. Fans can bid on them after the game. Proceeds go to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. All breast cancer survivors will be admitted free.

There's also a more permanent way to show your support for Breast Cancer Research.

Employees at Discount Tatoos and Piercing are offering a free breast cancer ribbon tattoo at their Centerline and Southfield locations. Call 586-759-8446 to make your appointment. You can also register at 247tattoos.com.
