DETROIT (MyTV 20) - Former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was back in a Wayne County courtroom Tuesday, asking a judge to reduce his monthly restitution payment on the $1 million he owes to the city of Detroit.
In his second restitution hearing, Kilpatrick told Wayne County judge David Groner he still has problems paying $6,000 a month in restitution payments. But Kilpatrick once again failed to provide details about his wife's Carlita Kilpatrick's finances.
After the hearing, the former mayor told reporters his still making restitution payments to the city of Detroit. The hearing resumes on Wednesday.
