DETROIT (MyTV 20) - The ongoing battle between Detroit Public School Board and the Emergency Financial Manager is heating up again.
Detroit Public Schools Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb heads to court Monday. He wants four people to explain what they know of the $1.5 billion bond issue from 1994, and how that money was spent.
One of the four is former Deputy Mayor and current school board member Anthony Adams.
Bobb and others want to know if anything improper happened to get the campus of Cass Tech High. Other concerns include the purchase of a condominium in the Fisher Building, and leasing office space there. The building is owned by the Farbman family. Bobb claims two members of the family have also refused to appear before his committee.
The lawyer for the Farbman Family claims Bobb denied his invitations to meet with the family. He also tells us he will take Bobb up on the offer to meet. We were not able to get a hold of Anthony Adams or his lawyer.
