DPS, Teachers Close to Deal

DETROIT (MyTV 20) - Detroit Public Schools is closer to sign a new contract with teachers. This after spending the last five days at the bargaining table.
This morning, DPS and the Detroit Federation of Teachers announced they are about 99% finished with a new teacher contract. No specific details were given regarding whether or nor teachers will receive a pay cut, but DPS did announce some teachers will get teachers aides to help improve student achievement.
Student and teacher safety will also be included in the contract. Teachers could vote as soon as next week.
