Today, the former vice president of Synagro Technologies was sentenced for his involvement in the Synagro sludge contract scandal. James Rosendall will spend 11 months behind bars after admitting he approved bribes through a middleman so former Detroit City councilwoman Monica Conyers would vote in favor of the billion dollar contract.

Rosendall, who cooperated with the FBI to incriminate Conyers and others involved in the scandal, got less jail time for his cooperation.

The former V.P., who will go to jail in January and pay a two hundred thousand dollar fine, didn’t comment about his sentencing as he left court, but political consultant Sam Riddle who also faces jail time in the same case did.

SAM RIDDLE
FACES JAIL TIME
"As a four year Vietnam era veteran, all I can say is I guess justice is at work for some and not quite as work for others."

Riddle was in court himself today to tell a judge he will not take a plea deal in the Synagro case.

He’s accused of helping Monica Conyers accept the bribes for the Synagro contract.

Riddles trial is expected to start in January but could be delayed because U.S. District Court judge Avern Cohn says jury members, that still need to be selected, could be influenced by Riddles Twitter and media comments.

SAM RIDDLE
WILL GO TO TRAIL
"I will be Twittering, I will be Facebooking, it will not be about the facts of this case. The first amendment did not die south of eight mile. Stay tune, Twitter coming up."

Former city councilwoman Monica Conyers, who already took a plea deal, will be sentenced on January 15th.
