HAZEL PARK, Mi (MyTV 20) - The holidays have arrived early for many people in Hazel Park. The new Nine Mile Road Bridge is open to traffic.
Crews put the final touches on the span over Interstate 75 Friday morning. July's tanker explosion destroyed the old bridge. Federal emergency funds helped finish the project ahead of schedule, to the delight of many.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place Monday morning.
