HARRISON TWP, MI (My TV20 News News at 10) --- They are the faces of those who help defend our country.

Now, the airmen at Selfridge Air National Guard Base are finding themselves defender of their jobs. It's an uphil battle.

The Air Force says it will eliminate the aging A-10 Warthogs, meaning a loss of about a third of the base's total personnel. The Air Force is forced to make the reductions as part of the Pentagon's tighter budget. Similar cuts are planned at A-10 Air Guard units in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Fort Smith, Arkansas.

My TV 20's Dave Leval has the story.
