Cleaning Up Detroit Streets Ahead of Angel's Night

DETROIT, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- This abandoned car gets help being moved.

Detroit Police are making sure it won’t be the only one.

They are removing abandoned cars in advance of the annual “Angel’s Night.”

Police want to eliminate tempting targets of firebugs during the three-night period.

City crews are also posting warnings on abandoned houses.

It lets people know they are being watched in case someone wants to set them on fire.

Detroit's recorded 94 fires during the 2011 "Angel's Night" period.

83 of them were deemed suspicious, down from 169 in 2010.
