DETROIT, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- Mkke Duggan has called it quits in his bid to become Detroit's next mayor.

The former head of DMC announced his decision Wednesday morning.

It came one day after the Michigan Court of Appeals denied Duggan's request to be placed back on the ballot.

Challenger Tom Barrow led the fight to remove Duggan after he filed his paperwork two weeks before his first anniversary as a Detroit resident.

That violated the city charter.
